Allied Universal Training Practice Test

A security guard must notify law enforcement and surrender the detained person immediately after detaining someone because the legal authority to detain an individual is limited. Once a person is detained, the guard's responsibility is to ensure that the detained individual is handled according to the law and the organization's policies. It is essential to involve law enforcement to manage the situation legally and protect the rights of the detained person. This action ensures that the appropriate protocols are followed, and that the situation is resolved in a manner that upholds safety and legality.

Other options do not fully address the legal responsibilities and procedural requirements that follow a detention. Conducting an internal investigation or questioning the person without involving law enforcement risks potential violations of the individual's rights and complicates the security guard's liability. Additionally, releasing the individual after brief questioning does not follow protocol and could lead to legal repercussions, especially if the situation warrants law enforcement involvement.
